Could someone tell me what is a good commercial smoker? Has anyone heard of the Town Brand? Need something that can produce enough for 200-300 people. Any thoughts?

Towne from NY

ommercial Smoker,NY? The aren't really a high volume smoker. I have the 36" model and use it as a holding oven. They are gas with a chip box and have six rods for hanging the meat. No shelves. They claim 96 spares cooked in a hour. That is sixteen slabs per each 36" long 3/8" rod hanging vertical.

Have owned both Ole Hickory and Southern Pride. Both cook about the same and turn out great products. However, I believe that you cannot beat the Ole Hickory total package. They are built better, cost less new, most parts can be bought locally and the customer service at Ole Hickory surpasses Southern Pride by leaps and bounds.

Never heard of Town Brand.

Good luck,

Robert

I have 2each cto's and 2 each ctodw's from Old Hickory. I have had plenty of trouble with them. Everything from door latches that fall off to bad electronics. Even the brand new ctodw was bad right when I got it.
I would take Southern Pride over them if I were to start over again.
