Hey everyone, I'm new here. My name is Seth and I am in need of some help. I live in Central Illinois and my buddy and I are wanting to do a start up BBQ business. The main problem we have is wood.
Is there a place to go online that ships wood for smoking purposes and can be bought in abundance?
Any help would be appreciated.

Wood is expensive to ship as it is heavy.  Smoking woods include oak (usually readily available as firewood, you just need to split it smaller), fruit and nut tree wood (find an orchard that removed some old trees), alder, hickory, and more.  To get an apple smoke, you can mix some apple wood with oak, it does not need to be all apple unless that is the taste you are going for.

Another option might be Craigslist. Seems like there is always some one with "Free Firewood"
